Former Army Specialist and Guantanamo guard Terry "TJ" Holdbrooks poses for portraits in his Scottsdale apartment and the mosque that he attends in the greater Phoenix area. Since leaving the US Army, Holdbrooks has been a critic of the facility since leaving the Army in 2005 and credits his experience at the facility for his conversion to Islam. During his tour as a guard, Holdbrooks received a Koran from Chaplan James L. Yee as well as a traditional prayer rug from one of the inmates. (Yee is Army Captain accused of spying during his tenure at Guantanamo; the charges were dismissed)
